Sweet June
June (the month) has been fun so far. We have had pretty odd weather (pouring rain today, 90+ degree days with humidity, etc.). Here are some things we've been doing:
Some days indoors
Saying "Cheese!" (still working on that :) )
Fun fountains outside
More time inside (June loves umbrellas and I guess the rain--because Mommy sings, "If all the raindrops were lemon drops and gum drops...." and June joins, "Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah" (with her mouth open wide)
Stealing Clint's cycling shoes. She puts shoes on by herself and often even gets them on the proper foot.
Wow-more time inside. It has been raining a lot.
Going for a walk (on the hottest day so far, I might add)
Building a fort with Emma. June is saying "Shhhh," because they're hiding.
Posing with her new prized possession. It was on extreme clearance and will make our summer trip to Utah all the more exciting. She has played with it non stop for a couple of days now. We sort of have to hide it during meal time or she's too distracted...
Coney Island
We spent last Friday afternoon at Coney Island with the Porters.
June and Paige had a blast playing in the sand, we enjoyed a fun picnic and went to "Free Day" at the NY Aquarium. It's pretty apparemtn the aquarium is still recovering after Hurricane Sandy. I was impressed at how Coney Island doesn't seem to have missed a beat. Fun to visit that iconic place--whose prime may have been in the mid 1900s....but was still so fun!
My monkey riding the subway home. Her energy level keeps going up and up and up!!!

Block Towers and Daddy's Dress [Shirt]
June had fun playing blocks with Uncle Clint this morning
This action sequence is so cool (note the blocks are actually tumbling . The towers were so tall Clint had to make sure they didn't tumble on top of June.
We always build the "house" for Elmo
June insisted on wearing her sneakers this morning.
Before & After
Using this little tutorial, I made June a dress from one of Curt's old work shirts (elbow ripped out--his standard shirt fatality). It is cute, comfy and was easy to make. We love it!Tuesday, June 4, 2013
