June is 4 months old today. How the time flies!
We actually had her 4 month check up this morning. Our baby is now 7.365kg, 64 cm and has a head circumference of 44cm (16.2 lbs, 25.2",17.3"). She's about the 95th percentile an all growth curves.
June was such a performer at the appointment this morning. We walked back to Dr. Hamden's room and sat down--right when the doctor welcomed us, June just started giggling. Anytime the doctor would start to talk, June would just giggle at her. It was adorable. Maybe she was trying to get out of shots? June got one shot in each leg and was surprisingly good (you can see her bandaids). She cried a little after the first shot and then stopped by herself. The last one hurt more, but she calmed down really quickly and was back to her smiling self right after. Sheesh- we have the best baby in the world.
June is more and more social every day. She is most talkative in the mornings and often 'sings' along when I sing to her. She loves it when I do ridiculous things adults only to do make babies smile. I love it--that's why I make a fool of myself wherever we are. She continues to giggle bit by bit, but it's not extremely common yet. She has discovered her hands more, but I don't think she realizes they're connected to her. She's grabbing at toys and putting things in her mouth. She drools so much I keep her in bibs most of the day so I don't have to change her 5x/day.
June is eating well--as you can tell. She eats every 3-4 hours during the day and sleeps very well at night. Her favorite time for bed is 9:30pm. She doesn't have a perfect waking pattern, but it is generally about 7am that she wakes up (sometimes earlier, often later). It's great to sleep! If she does wake up early, she'll eat and then sleep 3hrs more to wake up and eat again. It's amazing she's been doing this for so long. We feel very, very lucky.
What our day is like: June takes naps periodically, we go on walks every day and stop to say hi to Daddy at his office, we sing a lot of songs, we spend time on the floor playing with toys, etc. I'm working 10hrs/week from home and June has been very good to let me get my work done as well. It's a good balance. She is very observant and is entertained by just looking at her surroundings. She definitely recognizes her Mommy and Daddy, and that makes us feel great.
June is wearing her 6 mos clothes and I'm trying to make it so she doesn't 'miss' clothes by growing too quickly. She's still in the size 3 diapers and is still saving her poop up for once a day or so. It can be scary to change that one--and I always am hopeful she's not oozing out somewhere.
We have an angel in our home--and if you don't believe me, you can ask Curt or Grandma Nita. They'll vouch for her.
