Anson Look-a-like

Anson looks a LOT like his sister (previous posts). He also looks a lot like Mommy and Daddy:

Anson: 5 Months!

This just snuck up on me. My baby boy is 5 months old? Anson is adorable and brightens any room. His smile is so large he generally just ends up having his mouth open as wide as it goes. He has a sweet little dimple on his left cheek. He laughs, snorts, grunts and giggles--especially if June is involved. Anson is also our little lion and likes to growl. If you growl at him he will sometimes growl right back.

 Anson likes to hold toys and look at them, well look only for the 2 seconds it takes to get them to his mouth. Everything goes in the mouth. He is also very curious when we are eating. Maybe it's time for real food? He continues to grow and is starting to twist around and roll (not all the way over yet). He likes to stand, swing and still loves baths.

He isn't a great sleeper and usually wakes up in the middle of the night, cries and eventually falls back to sleep. I'm hoping we're on the uphill in this one. I can't complain because it really isn't terrible. He still likes to save up his poops and loves getting his dirty diapers changed. He's had very dry skin all winter and I'm hopeful I'll be able to tone down the 3-4x per day lotion sessions. We've gone through tubs of lotion.

He is just plain social. If he's crying, the first thing to try is just say, "Hi Anson" and talk to him a little. That generally fixes the situation. If not, he's tired, messy or hungry. 

Watching the Olympics

We watched a few Olympic events this year. Anson was mesmerized and sat with Daddy kicking and cheering the entire time.

Guitar at Woodloch

June made her guitar at arts & craft time while we were at Woodloch. She walked around like this singing for days. Usually she sang, "Silent Night," but here she is singing, "Bibidi bobidi boo" from Disney's Cinderella.

Springtime is Coming!

June is finding it more and more fascinating to play with Anson. I love watching them together!

She wanted to feed Anson some baby food. He doesn't have great hand control so he kept spilling it. Poor June just didn't know how to help him. They both had a great time! She can make Anson smile bigger and laugh harder than almost anyone.

Fun photo from Brooklyn. The reason I chose this one is because right after I snapped this she had an accident. It's notable because June is potty trained. YAY! She tells us when she needs to go and had used all sorts of potties all over the city. I am SO glad people are nice and let this cute little 2 yr old use their bathrooms even if we're not customers at the time. Accidents are pretty uncommon now.

June loves to be a puppy. Daddy has helped feed this craze by having mealtime on a few occasions.

A free yoga class we went to. June is best at downward dog, and Anson loved every part of it.

We had a great ward activity: Spring Clean. We all met up at the church and spent a few hours cleaning. The building looked much better and we all had a good time. In addition to that, we were all encouraged to spring clean our homes and take [good] unwanted items to the church for a 'swap.' Everything that wasn't taken was donated. Here is the nursery during the cleaning.

June loves to sing but often stops and is silly or shy as soon as a camera turns on. This time was unique because she WAS Cinderella.

Anson: 4 Months!

Oops! Just saw I never clicked "publish" on this post. I think I was waiting to enter his height/weight because I forgot them.

Well this last month flew! Anson is just like he was last post (3 Months): Cheerful! He loves to smile and occasionally laugh. He is very ticklish and doesn't know whether to be scared or happy when he gets too many tickles. June always can make him smile. He still loves baths (kicks, kicks, kicks) and is getting more excited about toys. He grabs them and tries to put them in his mouth. Anson also likes to suck on his fists (and still likes a binky).

After his bout with RSV he had a hard time sleeping at night. He woke himself up coughing for a couple of weeks. So sad. I think we're finally making progress back to good sleeping. Last night he slept 7 hours (too bad bedtime was 9pm....but hooray that we're back up to 7 hours at least). Swaddling is a huge help, but he can still sometimes break out.

He's a big boy (was 17lbs 12 oz and 26.3" at his appointment, 90% height and 92% weight; head 42.5cm or 55%) and enjoys eating. He still likes to save his poop up and I'm always hoping the explosion will happen at home (or safely if we're out and about). He (thankfully!) loves walks in the stroller and is a great observer. He sleeps well in the stroller too.

We love him more and more every day.
