June ADORES cooking with Mommy. In fact, I can hardly do anything in the kitchen without her running over to me and saying something like, "I help?" "June do it?" "June cook?" etc.
One Sunday afternoon we made breadsticks together. She poured in every ingredient and helped stir as well. She was very sweet and so delighted. The breadsticks turned out well too - a success for her first batch.

Back in the Saddle Again
Today has been a long day. That's actually not a bad thing. Today started, well, yesterday, in Salt Lake. After almost 2 weeks of fun with family, June and I boarded the [dreaded] red-eye flight back to NYC. We left about 11:30pm and got to NYC about 6:00am this morning. After walking through the airport, taking the airtrain and subway, etc. we arrived home about 7:40am. The great news: June is still a wonderful traveller. She slept practically the entire flight and even dozed the subway ride home. She's not her 100% normal, cheerful happy self today, but she's done really well. I'd actually do the red-eye again after the experience today. There is less room on my lap for her and I feel like I can't go to the bathroom on the plane when I fly alone with June...but other than that, traveling solo with a toddler while 6 months pregnant wasn't so bad.
When we got home, we cleaned, unpacked, did laundry, etc. June said she was hungry, and I was too, so I made us some chicken nuggets for 'lunch,' only to look at the clock as we sat down to eat to see it was 9:30am. It was silly.
We then had a fun impromptu lunch with Daddy and the Porters at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. We've been meaning to go out to lunch for NYC restaurant week but never have made the time. Today was the last day of restaurant week, so it was our last shot. It was a DELICOUS lunch, and well worth the great restaurant-week-price. After lunch, the daddys had to go back to work, so Anette, Paige, June and I walked around midtown and eventually made our way to Bryant Park and the Library. It's not even 6pm as I write this and we have done so much today! When we left the library, June and Paige were noticeably tired. June passed out before we even reached the 1st subway stop. She slept the entire ride home and is napping still. She's so sweet. Here are some photos from the afternoon:

Original Winnie the Pooh and Friends. It's fun to live in a city with so many treasures.
Part of the current display on children's literature
It would have been neat to learn more about children's literature while at the exhibit...but it's hard to stop and read when you're chasing a toddler.
After the library we gave the girls some granola bar and let them sit on the steps to eat it. They were adorable and had so much fun together. We watched from afar. It was sort of funny to see all of the people stop and watch June and Paige play and giggle. It's weird living in a touristy city because people are always taking photos--and when you have these two, they're often taking photos of us.
They're both little hams and gave the audience quite the show I guess.
