Tate: 3 Months!

And when I think Tate can't get any sweeter...Really. I don't think I could imagine a better baby, and he keeps getting better. Tate is the most cheerful, sweet, calm and plump baby around. He absolutely loves anyone who will take the time to look at him and talk to him. He coos back and smiles so big he doesn't know what to do but keep smiling. He sticks his tongue out a lot and has had several bouts of laughing. His laugh is so cute I can't wait for it to be a more consistent thing.

Tate still eats (obviously) and is much larger than any of the babies even close to his age. Today I put him in 9 month pajamas. All of the 3-6mos clothes need to be removed from his drawer. He is getting more folds in his arms and legs, and I can't but blame him for not liking tummy time very much. He just sits with his face on his hands or the blanket. Almost no efforts to look up. I think it will be a while before this kid rolls because he has so much mass to move. My sister lovingly nicknamed him "Tank."

Sleep wise Tate is okay. I haven't really made any efforts on that front other than swaddling him and feeding him when he's hungry. He'll go in 7 hour spurts at night but since I haven't invested much time, the 7 hour spurts often begin at 8 or 9pm, which means he's up and ready to eat about 3 or 4am. At least he goes right back to sleep, so I can't complain at all. I think we're on a good track right now.

Tate is a poop-saver like my other kids. A few days will pass and I just brace myself for the 2 diapers-in-a-row that will be so full if I don't change them immediately.... Oh. So I guess one thing I could do without is Tate's random projectile vomit episodes. They are full-on soaking vomits (ask Jessica Coleman, she was once a recipient). Once it happened during the prayer in Relief Society at church. That was exciting. Another time while standing on a street in SoHo waiting for June's dance class to let out...and other times usually at home on the couch. It is probably a couple times per week so I can't complain at all. There is no pattern to the madness so it's just bad luck I guess.

June and Anson love their little brother. June has a fascination with putting Tate's hands in his mouth (generally with her finger in his little fist...we're working on this one). Anson likes to drive his cars and walk his animals on Tate. I have to be near always because in a flash Anson will poke an eye or squish Tate. I have to say Tate is a good sport and very forgiving thus far. The life of a little brother (especially the little brother of rambunctious Anson). They do love giving him hugs and kisses and talking to him. They get especially excited when he smiles at them and usually quite concerned when he cries. Both LOVE to give him a bottle and try to give him a binky now and again (but he's just not that good at using a binky - he can't seem to keep it in, though it will help him fall asleep)
