More NYC Fall Activities

San Gennaro Festival in Little Italy with Grandma (and playgroup friends)

My favorite part was (surprise) the food - especially the zeppoles (balls of dough deep-fat-fried covered in powdered sugar-yum!)

Lots of park time (airplane swinging here)

Watching the puppet mobile marionette show of Little Red Riding Hood (NYC style)

Strolling on Wall Street

June went for a walk with Clint and Nana last night. Here's a quick video Clint made of it.
June likes taking the stroller up and down the curb. She has also started to like running more.

Grandma's Birthday

We got to celebrate Grandma's birthday on Sunday. It's been so fun to have her living in Manhattan. Here are some photos of presents and cake.

Poop

Today was a day all about poop. I only write this because as June sits with me as I type this she says over and over, "The horsies did poop!"

The real reason poop matters today is because June pooped on the toilet. This morning I asked her if she wanted to sit on the potty, to which she replied no. Shortly after breakfast she told me she needed to go poop. I asked her if she wanted to sit on the toilet, and she said yes.

So June actually loves sitting on the potty and has probably every day for a few weeks (with no business done). Whenever she asks I let her in case it is the real deal. Well, today was. A long time ago Daddy told her she could have a new toy if she used the potty and she asked for a new car. That's what we bought right after she used the toilet. Daddy is proud of her selection: an orange Lamborghini Gallardo.

And the reason for the horsie comments: there is heightened security all around our apartment because it is the anniversary of occupy Wall Street. The entire street is barricaded-more than usual- and there are about 10x as many police officers as usual, including the mounted unit. We stopped and pet the horsies twice today. Yes, there was horse poop on the road (June asked if it was food for the horsies and I told her it was poop. She laughed).

Of course we went to the park 2x as well. We're soaking up this lovely fall weather.

Birthday Fun

June went to a little birthday party this morning. She remembers a lot about birthdays from the last birthday party we went to. She immediately asked me if she'd be able to wear a birthday hat. Of all things she remembered that. Then she remembered the birthday cake and presents. Here are some photos of June enjoying the festivities (it was a circus party):

Riding the tiger

Post cupcake

Enjoying popcorn (can't waste 1 piece!)

While I type this June is saying, "Birthday party!" "Cupcake!" etc.
She'll be the birthday girl soon - when you ask her how old she is, she promptly responds, "Two in October."

Baby Brother

Guess it's time to give a little update. Baby brother is growing fast. We are almost 31 weeks, so time may start to fly (due Nov 13th). Here are some photos of the appointment I had a 29 weeks:

Laying on arm with other fist by his cheek

And here I am yesterday. I don't know if I took any 'baby bump' photos when I was pregnant with June, so we will call this my baseline 30 week photo:

Enjoying Summer

I can't believe Summer has come to an end. We have had a blast the last 2 weeks:
Pier 25

Walking home from Pier 25

Imagination playground

Playing with Daphne

Blowing bubbles on the roof

Taking "Tebby Bear" for a walk

Choosing her clothes and shoes (she does really care some days)

Our new favorite activity--June exclaims, "Let's play Little People(s)!"

And, last but not least, the [fantasy] NFL draft

It was a big deal because Daddy got the first pick this year.
