Anson: 9 Months!

Anson had a great month, and a rough month. He got sick 3x with fevers. And when I say fevers, I'm not joking. His 'standard' temperature was 103.8. One day at the end of July he actually had a seizure due to the fever. It was pretty terrifying. We ended up taking him to the ER (was a Saturday, and his 2nd ER trip - let's not keep this up) and everything checked out okay. To say the least, we are extra vigilant when his fever starts to spike: we give meds, strip down, cool baths/ice, etc. to get it down. So after virus (?), unknown fever and ear infection, he had a tough July/August. The amazing thing is you can hardly tell when this guy is sick--he still smiles and laughs like everything is okay.

Anson eats like a champ. He still out-eats June and loves to feed himself. He did drop his weight after being sick, but he'll probably jump back on his curve at his 1 year check-up. He's 21 lbs 6 oz (60%), 29.5" (83%) and his head is 45.9 cm (64%). He and June were about the same size at 9 months (see here). His favorite foods are: whatever you give him. Really--he eats anything, and gets very excited to eat. He still nurses, but only night/morning and 1 other time. He's weaning himself pretty quickly.

Anson is a great army-crawler. He has gone to his hands/knees a couple of times but prefers his scooting. He loves to stand up but has pretty poor balance. He also loves to dance (bounce while standing), clap, wave and just grin. He still giggles and babbles all the time too. Anyone who meets him leaves smiling. He catches the eyes of people on the subway, sidewalk, at church, in line at stores, etc. We get stopped constantly because of his cuteness and social personality.

He sleeps better - well depending when he's sick, right? But it sure is nice to have long sleeps at night again! He also takes really good naps and can sleep through a lot of loud things (thank you NYC). Even the sirens whizzing by (or wailing while stuck in traffic...) don't wake him.

June loves taking care of Anson. She likes to feed him, make him laugh and sometimes play with him/read him stories. Speaking of stories, he sure loves books and pictures. Oh - and TV/movies. June never cared at this age I don't think, but when we turn on Dora the Explorer Anson gets insanely excited. Video of that to come - it is film worthy.

Anson will be 10 months in 9 days. Whoa!
