At her 9 month appointment-and the last one with Dr. Hamdan :( -June weighed 9515g (21 lbs), was 70 cm (28 in) tall and had a head circumference of 48 cm (19 in)
We have had a fun month. June traveled in 5 different countries and was a great sport about it. She is genuinely a happy, cheerful and active baby. June is constantly on the move and has more than mastered the army-crawl. Occasionally she gets a few 'real' crawls in as well, it's just not as efficient.
Probably her favorite thing to do while playing with Mommy is get up to her feet and stand at the couch. She has gotten better at pulling herself up to her feet and will walk along the couch (or suitcase, box, etc.). She's not very steady so it's a little scary. I used to catch her a lot, but a few days ago I let her 'tumble.' It didn't even phase her. She rolled over and got up. I think she fell 4x in a row and never gave up. She's really a trooper. She also still enjoys her jumperoo and squeals with delight. That's the place she hangs out so Momma can have showers.
Her favorite songs have been I Love to See the Temple and How Much is That Doggie in the Window? Her favorite toys are her books--and the books on our bookshelf. When she's on the move she's heading one of 3 places: to the bookshelf, where she proceeds to pull as many books off as she can before being relocated; the house plants, which now live on the table; or the curtains that hang almost to the floor.
June's a jibber-jabber baby now. She makes many consonant sounds in all sorts of volumes/pitches. She also started to clap her hands. She knows her Mommy and Daddy well and loves to be hugged and kissed. When she hears Daddy's voice when he gets home from work she always gets really excited. When she's tired, she usually wants to snuggle with Mommy, which she loves.
Her eating and sleeping habits aren't too different. She has milk 4-5x per day and has 2 solid food meals. She gets very excited for those meals and is a fantastic eater. The only tough thing about the solid foods has been a couple bouts with constipation. We decided to start her on a little medicine to get her going regularly so it's not a scary thing. It's like corn syrup and we're hoping it'll do the trick. She goes to bed about 9:30 and has been randomly waking up at 5:00 every morning to eat. After she eats she sleeps another 2 or 3 hours. Not sure when that 5:00 feeding will disappear again...
This baby girl is really the happiest baby we have ever seen. She makes friends with all sorts of strangers and really brightens the day of everyone she comes in contact with. I reviewed some of the notes I wrote from when she was blessed as I was preparing a YW lesson. I was touched to see that one of the big themes was her happy spirit. It's so apparent and brings us such joy. We love our JujyBug!
