June: 8 Months!

Can you love someone more? We LOVE our little June! This last month she has changed so much. Do I say that every month?

My guess is she's about 10kg (22lbs) and 72 cm (28"). Just a guess. She is much more mobile and loves scooting around the floor. She definitely has the backwards army-crawl down, and, combining that with rolling over and 360 degree rotation on the tummy, she can get anywhere she wants. Maybe next month she'll get the forward motion? She does occasionally pull herself up on her knees, but no sign of crawling. We're fine with that. Less area to baby-proof

She continues to be very curious. She likes to explore and loves to smile and laugh. I've never seen a baby with a better temperament. I've gone into the office 2x this week and out to dinner with Curt and she was extremely calm. It really is unbelievable (ask my coworkers). She rarely cries, and if she does, it is short lived. June also jabbers more than ever. New sounds pop up every week and Mommy & Daddy can't get enough of her talking/singing.

June loves music and books. Her favorite books right now are the Little People books Grandma 'Nita lent her. She also likes "Ou es-tu Maman?" She is very animated when we read to her and gets excited when we turn the pages. Sometimes the tries to help...occasionally she tries to eat the books. Her favorite animals are elephants and fish--at least those are the ones she likes most in the books and stuffed animals. Her favorite toy is Momma's pink wallet--by far. Does that mean something?? Scary.

She has two solid meals per day and is becoming quite the little eater. Her favorite foods are peas and carrots (remember the peas video?). We had a bout with constipation that was horrible. Poor thing. Since then I have been encouraging more liquids and being more cautious of rotating the diet (not too much applesauce or carrots). Good thing this little one takes a bottle no problem now and likes her bike water bottle. It took some training.

She sleeps well again. Every once-in-a-while she'll have a rough night and wake up crying. She usually falls back to sleep with no problem. Once or twice it's been the "nightmare" wake up where she's not coherent but is crying. I don't like those. I can only attribute them to "nightmares."

Her personality shines through every day. She is cheerful, outgoing, loving, calm, inquisitive, happy and persistent.
