We had a wonderful trip last weekend. It was really weird to travel without June. We missed her very much. We arrived in London Wednesday night and went to our apartment. That's all we did for Day 1.
Day 2:

We went to the British Museum

Saw some real Olympic medals,

the Rosetta Stone,

and the rest of the Parthenon we didn't see while in Athens.

Certain parts of London were closed to traffic during the Olympics. Only official Olympic BMWs could be seen on those roads.

Day 3:

Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace

I had to laugh because they were playing the Bee Gees "Staying Alive" when we arrived. I expected the music to be a little more regal.

After seeing the crown jewels inside the Tower of London. The Tower tour was pretty fun.

Our evening activity was seeing the musical Les Miserables at the Queen's Theater. We both read the unabridged version of Hugo's novel in preparation. I had seen the musical but it was Curt's first time. We both loved it!

Day 4:

Mobs of people leaving the underground station to get to Wembley Stadium. The streets were literally full of people all the way to the gates (look closely under the Olympic sign).

Japanese dinner at Tokyo Diner. The curry was delicious! Tasted a lot like the curry my brother Russ makes.

Day 5: We flew home from London to Geneva to be greeted by Grandma and Junebug at the Creux-de-Genthod train station. What a joyous reunion!!!
