June: 11 Months!

June is turning into a little lady. She has 4 teeth on their way in, wanders everywhere in the house and sings herself to sleep at nap time. She is friends with everyone she encounters and waves hello and goodbye. She likes to clap, dance and jabber, and her favorite song is "How Much is that Doggie in the Window."

June's favorite time is reading time. She loves books and plays with them more than anything else. She toddles everywhere in the house but is hesitant to be on her feet with outsomething to hold on to. She has very good balance, she just doesn't have the desire or confidence to walk alone.

For outings we go to the park. She likes to watch the dogs in the dog run and will sometimes say "woof" to them. She likes to climb up the slides and find other kids when she is at the playground. They're usually twice her size and not interested in baby play, but it doesn't stop her from having fun. She also loves to swing, but hates to get back in her stroller at the end of the park trip.

June usually goes to bed around 9pm and wakes up about 6am. Most days she goes back to sleep until 7 or 8 after some milk. She continues to be a little bird and eats anything Mommy and Daddy give to her. Her favorite meal is the same as Daddy: roast with potatoes and carrots. She also has a new love for Cheerios and gets excited whenever she sees the box or her snack cup. June can easily chew her food and bites things off with her new teeth. She doesn't do any malicious biting, which Mommy and Daddy appreciate.

There were some rough spots this month: jet lag, moving and a bout with the flu, but she is back to her normal, happy self. Her constipation isn't so bad as we know how to help, but she still needs medicine.

I can't believe our little girl will be one year next month! At the same time, however, it feels like she's been part of our lives for years.
